Recorded a movie on the DVR, played it & recorded it onto a Sony DVD-R with the Sony RDR-VX525, I believe it finalized & did everything it should. However, it won't play. It says disk error. I went...

what happened was that you probably chose a disc speed on the DVD that was too fast or slow for the dvd players that you are putting it in to. Try re recording it but when under the DVD section, on your remote, choose REC Mode till it says SP. That one should work on just about any dvd player. I had the same problem with mine. Here is a step by step instruction on how to dub from VHS to DVD correctly. You must be aware of the disc you use for recording. You better used DVD+R for better works. Will you please state, what kind of disc you used? the in put manuals? or you might forget to turn the analog/digital switcher?

After recording the DVD player, wont play on any other player

I have seen this on other players as well. What happens is the media your recording on is either too slow for the player and the player is recording faster than the media is supposed to handle. For some reason it works on the machine it was recorded on but nothing else.

Solution: Get media that matches the speed of the player.

If this is not the solution let me know I will get you one.
