Hi asoleyma,
This error code F7 from a Ktchenaid oven means that the function key is stuck on ERC. This can be fixed by having the control board (also called ERC or clock) be replaced. You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Just get your model number ready when you call.
Hope this helps.

F7 call for service

Hi, the F7 = HV SMPS feedback error. Most of the time this is a costly microprocessor board issue but can be something as simple as a loose or broken wire.

If it is in fact new you should contact Whirlpool for warranty service. Anything you would do as a consumer will void the warranty.

My 15 month old KitchenAid microwave is now doing the same thing listed here. I give it a time and press start, it runs for about 13-17 seconds, then it gives error code F7 with the letter HV SMPS below it...

Hello, Stepcoins -

You will find the link to the warranty information on your model here:
https://www.kitchenaid.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/WHRORNAjaxCatalogSearchView?storeId=10202&catalogId=10552&langId=-1&beginIndex=0&searchTerm=KHMS2056SBL-1

The link to the PDF document (Adobe Acrobat Reader) with the warranty information is at the bottom of that page.

The document with the warranty information provides a toll free phone number to call. It is provided near the end of the text.

Whirlpool Velos Microwave showing "Error F7 HV SMPS Feedback" error. What does that mean?

F7 means that the control panel is not getting feedback from the Switched Mode Power Supply (high-voltage inverter).

This could be due to a problem with the inverter or the control unit / circuit board, but it appears to be the latter in most cases.

We repair microwave control boards for customers nationwide with our guaranteed $39.95 service.

We have full details, plus critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site. You'll find a link to our site in our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful.

You may reply back with your brand and model number if you'd like us to look into this further, or feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Error Code

F7 problems are usually caused by poor connections. I suggest to unplug the ribbon connector off the control board and cleaned the copper connectors using alcohol or with a pencil eraser. If that does not work the touch pad may be defective.
