My first problem: I have a Verizon Samsung Alias 2, which is having problems. Solution to first problem: I bought a new non-contract Verizon Palm Pixi Plus to replace the Alias 2. Second problem: The Palm Pixi Plus is not compatible with my current plan which includes unlimited data and texting, but no calling (or $0.40/min). So therefore, I can't activate the Palm unless I upgrade my plan, which I am not willing to do. My question: Will unlocking the Palm Pixi Plus make the phone able to activate with my current, non-smartphone plan? Or what other methods can I take to solve this problem?

No, you cannot unlock the Palm Pixi Plus and put it on a plan that is not compatible with a smartphone. If you want to continue to use Verizon service, you will have to purchase a phone that is compatible with your current plan, or change to a different plan that will work with your Pixi Plus.

sometimes this problem may come from the service provider that you are using (network) but if it is not, then you have to take it to samsung service center.

The spring goes under the little plate that is held in by two tiny screws. Its visible when the phone is open vertically with the plastic cap removed from the hinge. Hope this helps. I took my hinge apart after I dropped it and the top half came off... now it's just holding by the ribbon so I'm going to order a new hinge. Verizon is completely useless. They don't want to even know about you if you're phone isn't under warranty and I have 11 months till an upgrade...

My alias won't charge
Unfotunately, this is a common problem. The first thing you should do is take it to the Verizon store(or someone else with the same charger) and ask them to try a charger. Hopefuly you can just buy the new charger. If this isn't the case, and normally it isn't, you will have to buy a new phone or dish out the 50$ for insurance if you have it. The problem is that you broke the charge port in your phone. Samsung considers this to not be under warrenty. The Verizon store cannot do anything for you. Hope this helped.

SAMSUNG ALIAS WILL ONLY POWER ON IF PLUGGED IN TO THE CHARGER
battery may show fully charged while charging, but it can noot hold the charge. So you need a new battery. If under warranty ask Verizon for replacement.

Unfortunately, you cannot. Verizon phones have integrated SIM cards that you cannot take out. You cant unlock a verizon phone.

Cannot format memory card
The Samsung Alias can only use up to 2gb microSD cards. I had this same problem after purchasing a 12 gb card only to discover that I could not use it with this phone. Hopefully this will be fixed when they make the Alias 2.
