I am assuming you are using windows and not MAC? Since you have stated you are using MS access file format, it should be PD 6.2. There is no way to convert the file format that I am aware of.

You will need to "clean" uninstall PD 6.2 and install PD 4.1.4e.

Here is the link to PD 4.1.4e

After you install 4.1.4e, create the same username you had on the previous install of PD, close PD, navigate to c-program files-palm and find the username folder. Paste the address.dat file you have into the address folder in the username folder. Open PD and see if the data is there.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. (If you need help on the export the manual details are here)

Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.

With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.

Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.

With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

I hope that helps and I have answered everything.

How do I delete databases I don't need anymore from my access files

Access generates individual files which are the complete database, the interface and control program.

Simply deleting this file will destroy the database. the extensions for Microsoft Access Database files are:

*.MDB (Access 2007)
*.ACCDB (Access database 2010 - current)

Cannot open database ext.accdb

accdb extentions must be opened with 2007 or later. 2007 and up will open ext.mdb. 2007-2010 will convert an mdb to accdb. 2013 will not convert but will open them.

Access problem

see if the LDB file still exist and delete it...

Whenever you open an Access database, a file with the same name as the database and an extension of LDB will be opened automatically. For example if you open Northwind.mdb in the samples directory of your Access/Office installation, a file called Northwind.ldb will be generated. This new file keeps track of users and the objects that require some form of locking in the database. When all users have exited gracefully from the database, the LDB file is closed down and deleted.

Microsoft Access database

try creating (if you have not already tried) the exact folder tree as [I:\DESKTOPPC\DesktopPC\Database\Toby3]. Now put the file "Tonys_work_be.mdb" into the folder named "Toby3".
