The danger in using DVD unlock codes is that they can invalidate your warranty, or if done incorrectly, "brick" the device. Essentially it's not legal to give out these codes.

Nonetheless, many people find unlock codes by googling the brand and model of their DVD.

Old Audio Sonic up to 2004 do not need a code, just open disc tray press 7 7 and Enter. Secret menu appears where you can change the Region.
For 2005 model you will need the code:
Open the tray with the remote control. Type 8421 (you should see 4 '-' on top left screen. Then press 'Select' on remote control to choose the region code (9 for region free).

OR

Open the disc tray, enter 7777 with the remote, then use the select key to choose the region code from 1-9. 9=all regions.

Your Dvd Player Needs To Be Region Free To Plays All Regions

Your concern of making your AudioSonic KM1412D region free is a bit more complicated than simple remote control entry of numbers and therefore changing some hidden settings.

Your unit is actually a combo TV/DVD. The DVD side is the one that has to be made region free. However, pls consider the color system of the TV (either NTSC or PAL). The DVD may eventually be modded to accommodate all DVDs but the TV may only operate on one (either) system. Of course not unless that at the onset it is a multi region and therefore the DVD would not even be locked in the first place.

Another consideration is that the remote that you have is both for a TV and DVD, most remotes used for DVD modding is specifically DVD players only.

Should you still be interested, there are only a few Audiosonic region free mods available.

3. Select RC. You can disable MacroVision, too.
