Water light is flashing - Saeco Magic de Lux

Machine could be scaled up. clean the steam and coffee outlets then descale whole system.Other possible causes could be a faulty pressure pump.

If you steam and then try to make another coffee, you need to cool the boiler off. Turn the steam off by pushing the steam button again, then open the steam knob and running water until the flashing light turn to green steady. Then make you coffee.

Turn the knob ON to let the water flows out constantly until the red light goes off.

The brew unit is blocked, check the shower screen under the red o-ring.

When was the last time you descaled the machine? Scale will build up inside the boiler and insulate the water from the heating elements. The thermostat is on the outside by the heating elements so it gets hot but your water is warm. There are other things but check this first.

Could be the pump or flow meter.

I'd start with the pump and go from there. In rare cases it can be the boiler being completely clogged up with calcium.

The thermoblock (boiler) element is burnt out and must be replaced.

means you do have the hot water button pushed and not just the steam function.

little magnet keeps that red light from coming on.

magnets probably gone bad, need to buy a new water tank. As far as i know saeco does not sell the magnets seperate.

could also be a blockage sending the machine into alarm.

I had the same problem - Cause: plugged water filter. We always used RO water so never replaced the filter. After 4 years I guess it was due.
Solution: Reprime the water system. Remove water filter. Fill tank with water. Turn machine on. Put a container under the steam/hot water wand and open the knob on the front panel. You may need to run half a tank of water through it before it resets. Hope this works for you all.
