I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan/lamp where the lamp dome is apparently very tight into the housing. I pressed up and turned in the direction noted to remove the dome. The dome houseing came down and is supported only by the wires now and will not re-thread back into position. Should there be an interior nut that holds the housing to ceiling mounted fan and how do you remove the dome to change the baulb? There are two model numbers; fan model number - 897F model number - AC 527 Any thoughts? I can call back if you leave a number. thanks, David 781-648-4729

Most light domes twist on or off or have thumb screws to loosen and lower the dome.It sounds like you removed the light kit assembly instead of the dome.Try to put back by twisting in place the light kit assembly and look for screws,or hold back on trim and turn just glass dome do not use too much force .I checked web site but can't find your model. It is unusual to not be able to just remove glass dome.Look closely at how the glass dome is positioned. If no screws are visible either the glass part unscrews or the ring unscrews allowing glass dome to be removed.Good Luck.I have installed many ceiling fans the problem is if you didn't install it your at a disadvantage.GOOD LUCK.

I need a wiring diagram of the Hampton Bay fan with light. The fan is black and white and the light has a blue wire. I believe the blue should be tied to the black, am I correct. Thanks

Twist the bare conductors together tightly, matching the black and blue ceiling fan wires to the black power wire, and the white ceiling fan wire to the white power wire, don't forget the green ground !!

We have a hampton bay ceiling fan model 54cvt. We cant figure out how to change the light bulb or change the direction of the blades. We dont have a manual for the fan.

This fan is also known as the Hampton Bay Covington 54 Ceiling Fan. You need to turn the globe anti clockwise until it comes out. The full instruction manual can be found here.
