Broken buttons six buttons on my SHC U740 arent working. i didnt drop it or anything. the volume up and down buttons arent working, the speakerphone button, the spacebar, the camera button, and the bootom left navagation button isnt working. and either the volume buttons or speakerphone button is stuck so the screen is always on and it dies really fast. help me

While you're in the call, use the volume buttons on the right hand side of the Tour to turn up the volume.

If you still can't hear, you might want to try using the speakerphone -- it's louder. The speakerphone button is the same as the dollar sign ($) button, just press it during a call to activate the speakerphone.

If the volume button makes your outgoing call sound better, but then the next time you make a call the volume drops again, go into the phone's sound settings (Home folder > Options folder > Phone Options > General Options) and under Default Call Volume, change it to a higher number, or to Previous.

There must be a solution to this very common problem, WHAT IS IT???
Please help me, I just want to know where to take it for repair or directions how I can do it myself and where can I find replacement parts. Come on, maybe Samsung should recall the SCH-U740 and take on the costly $amount$. After purchasing the SCH-u740 Cellular Phone consumers should not have to pay for expert advice, thats what customer service and satisfaction is all about.

these may be the a few of the possible problems:
1. the phone has been dropped, and the logic board has malfunctioned 2. your possible idea (contacts are dirty)

if you wish to clean it, i can't really help you with that. not a hardware type of guy. however if you bring it to a nextel store, they may get you a new phone if your contract is up, or give you a replacement. Just mention it's sort of defective and happened on it's own if you didn't drop it or anything

Not much to tell you other than putting the factory software back on it. Thats the chance you take when you flash any phone.

needs a new speaker. can be replaced for as little as $30. if you're in Sacramento, CA, you can go to Cellular Solutions in the Downtown Plaza. it should be a quick 20 minute fix.

Mine did this before. i ended up having water damage and needed a new fone. i didnt drop it into water or anything, but i had it in my pocket in rain, and it slowly got worse and worse.

Saw this once with a bad speaker and another time the reset process shut something off....

I would recommend a hard-reset of the device. Keep in mind that this will delete all of your contact information and customized settings.

On a side note, be careful not to accidentally press the speaker-phone button on the right side of the phone during a call. I used to have this phone and I would sometimes do it without even realizing it.
