Cause Analysis The configuration of the S5700(such as S5700-28P-LI-AC)is as follows:

The outbound interface joins a VLAN in untagged mode, so VLAN tags are removed from packets sent by the interface.
Conclusion To apply traffic policy defining remark vlan to the outbound interface, ensure that the interface joins a VLAN in tagged mode.

The XTR-438 has Text display (vs. the XTR-265 Icon display), filter and TFSR modes (TFSR = Traffic Flow Signal Rejection). This mode helps reduce the alarms from traffic monitoring transmitters.

TP = Traffic Programm
When a traffic information is tuned in, the "TP" indicator lights up. Traffic information is heard only when it is being broadcast. If traffic information is not being broadcast, the unit is set in the standby mode.

1. Use both the Modem and the router as NAT routers. Do this by making your router a DMZ node on your modem, that way ALL traffic will pass to the router, then set up port forwarding etc on the router.

2. Run the router/modem in bridge mode (recommended). You need to set the modem to run in bridge mode, check the user manual for refrences to bridging. Then set the router to connect to PPPoE using a username and password.

Your best bet is to place the ASA into 'transparent' mode, and letting the traffic pass through it and be inspected on the way through.

To do this you need to first do the following command:
firewall transparent

Once in transparent mode, the firewall will no longer look like a hop in the packets journey, and you can set rules to allow/disallow traffic using access lists on the inside and outside interfaces, plus you can perform packet inspections using policy-map and inspects.
