150 GB Seagate Free Agent external problem.

Hi,
Have you tried uninstalling your seagate free agent software, restarting your computer and installing it again?

Either the power outlet it is plugged into does not have power or the AC power adapter for the drive has failed. Try another outlet. If that doesn't work see if Radio Shack has a replacement AC adapter or contact Seagate to replace it.

Restore ur hardware & software configuration will fix ur problem and u might b use reginout to fix ur problem

First check the bios setting and see which device is your default booting.

shut down the PC. Restart it and reconnect the Seagate. The HDD should Work .

Double click on My Computer expand the "C" drive / minimise and simply drag from one drive to the other.

try to connect it to other computer, if it doesn't help, hdd is probably broken. If you disassemble, you will find internal hard drive, which you can try to connect to desktop PC to save your data, or look up for some data recovery company

DO NOT buy a Seagate freeagent drive under any condition if it comes as a gift return it or re-gift to some one you don't like. Like so many others my 500GB external drive just quit working. Has only been plugged in about 6 times and then back into a cabinet to keep safe. In 10 years between 2 workstations 3 laptops and 4 external drives. The only drives that have ever gone bad are the Seagates and newer Maxators. I still have 4 Western digital drives that still work and get used in an external case for back up. They have never failed. Seagate should be responsible for data time and mental anguish.
