check if your computer uses other wireless utility (ex: intel proset wireless), if yes, uninstall it and update the wireless driver of your computer by downloading it from your computer's manufacturer's web site then restart the computer.
Modems/modem-routers/routers(wired & wireless) are such electronic devices which require a restart daily and a firmware update every month. These needs to be placed in a cool, dust-free area.
**Restart as in unplug the power and keep it unplugged for 15 minutes and plug the power back in.
**Firmware is a software which controls the hardware which requires re-installing of the same version or upgrading to a newer version which may contain fixes to known bugs in that model. If the firmware gets corrupted, hardware gives all sorts of trouble. These files can be found on each company's support websites.
**Placing such devices in a cool, dust-free area will avoid heating up of the device due to constant working.
the modem is already old and obselete try to upgrade the modem. even though the lights on your modem works. try to call ATT because they can run a line test so they can determine if the connection is good or not
You have to connect to the computer to the modem directly. Turn off the firewall program. There should be a reset button located on the back of the modem. Push and hold the button for thirty seconds. After the thirty second the modem should reboot. After the modem reboot, loard any browser and the verizon online should take on it own.
Yes, this can be a problem with the modem that you have first thing that you need to do here is to reset the modem and reconfigure it back, but if after that still have the same problem better contact your ISP and ask them if everything is working from their end...
really need more information to make an educated guess, but if this netgear is recently added, try using the control panel - add/remove and remove all programs for the netgear. Then control panel - system - device manager and uninstall the modem. Keep modem connected to pc and reboot. After it detects the modem use the modem cd to load only the driver. Let windows manage the modem.
I have not seen this issue before and I work directly with this modem on a daily basis. If its under warranty, then get a replacement. If not... Test the modem with wireless enabled, but wireless security disabled.
