I was doing some adjustments yesterday and today I can't delete the pictures from the camera. When I hit the trash button a cancel sign comes up on the button of the viewfinder and the picture won't delete....

That could be a safety feature, does it delete after viewing ... there should be a confirm delete pop up after you ask to delete and it will open with the cancel tag just in case you accidentally hit the delete or trash button.

Turn the camera on. It will be in the mode for taking pictures.

Press the MODE button twice. The camera is now in the mode for viewing pictures from the memory.

Press the button with the TRASH CAN symbol. It stands for Delete

You now have three (3) options:

• Delete this photo
• Delete all photos
• Cancel

You will probably have to use the Up/Down/Left/Right keys to highlight the option you want before pressing the SET button in the centre of the navigation ring to select it.

It varies with different brands and models of camera, but it is almost always simple, something like this: Go to viewing mode, usually by pressing a button with an arrow on it. You can step through the pictures with left and right sides of the button ring. If you want to delete one, press the button with a trash can on it. It will ask if you are sure. You will have to move the highlight to "Yes", and press OK. This will only delete that one. In a few cameras, the list with Cancel and Yes will also have Delete All. That one will delete all the pictures on the card.

Heidi, to delete the pictures on your camera you need to press the review button on your camera, the review button is like an icon of a triangle. Now if you pictur is already displayed on your screen you just need to press the delete button or the trash bin button.

To erase single images:

1) Use the <- or -> button to select an image for deletion and press the "little trash" icon.

2) Use the <- or -> button to select [Erase] and press the FUNC./SET button.
To exit instead of erasing, select [Cancel].

Hit the button with the camera/play/camcorder on it, and push the trash can (on the wheel) and from there you can select to delete all the pictures or delete them one by one.
