Re: Got no channels lost all recordings have no signal,...
LNB has blown OR faulty cable. Snow could have got in and shorted cable. Try cutting off and replacing F connector. If cable ok then must be LNB - cheap part and often sky would replace free.
Oops! OR has the dish moved - doesnt take much to move it with heavy snow. Does box show good signal strength? To recap - either cables, lnb or position of dish. Cannot be anything else.Oops! your box has most likely lost communication with your providers server. most boxes these days download the program guide over the internet. so if you still have your channels (come from a cable)but have no guide info its probably because your box has lost the internet.
First thing to check is does the video actually get a TV signal to record? When you set the recording going is the channel viewable? Next thing to do is clean all the video heads, this will include the erase head! If you still can't get it to record and the VCR does pick up a signal to record, then there will be an electronic fault that is causing the no record signal.
The summer solstice is near and it is common for signals to be misaligned. It does not matter if you are connected with cable or satellite signals. Many techs over look this common phenomena. Any storms (electrical especially) in the atmosphere may contribute to this. You cannot control this. Other things to consider, if you have dish, would be tree branches (beginning to gather leaves and blocking a signal) your dish may have moved and needs realigned (wind or snow caused). Also be sure you have good tight grounds (RF Connections outside as well as in). Be sure you have a good grounding, ground (Earth Ground in this case) if you have satellite reception. Clean the satellite dish, a very good idea. Also, check with your provider, you may need an upgrade with a newer reception box. Hope this will help. These are basic correction tips and not just mumbo jumbo. Thanks for asking me!
Hi,During timer recording adjustment you must have selected what ever you want to record..i.e: Tuner Channel , or ,Video1 input ,or Video 2 input etc..This problem is related with Source selection but not with - + type Disc..wrong disc will refuse to record at the beginning..
The noise and snow shows that your recorder was Recorded an unadjusted RF channel..thus no TV signal was available during recording .. I assume that your DVD recorder has built in TV tuner in...To correct the problem, first you make an automatic Ch set up ,search the available channels either on the Cable (if you have ) or RF local channels thru Arial Antenna.. than you try to record again by carefully selecting ..you will record TV RF channels successfully. Or you can attach another video source to your Recorder thru the RCA cables on the back panel and by selecting the respective SOURCE in accordance withe cabling you have made than you will record the AV signals available on your Receiver.. If you need more help pls let me know for further advise.
What error message are you receiving on your screen? There should be a 3 digit number in the top right of the message. Has there been any bad weather in the area which may have affected the signal?
If you haven't been advised to already, I would suggest doing a hard reset of the receiver by unplugging it from the outlet for 10 seconds. When you plug it back in the receiver will reboot itself for you. If you are still getting errors hit the menu button then 6-system setup, 1-installation, 1-point dish, and then hit check switch and then test. All your satellites should show green. If not we would need to send a tech out to address the issue.
The part re the other channels having no signal....I had the same problem with mine and that was because the small loop cable in the back wasnt right. I could watch all channels, press record and still watch that channel but try to watch a diff channel while its recording and they were gone. As soon as I had the loop cable in properly it solved the problem. Hope this helps....
Not sure about this, but my guess would be that you don't have the correct channel set on the DVD recorder. It has to be the channel that you use to receive your signal, NOT the channel that you necessarily want to record. For instance- if you use channel 3 to receive your signal from dish, cable etc but want to record a program on (hypothetically) CBS which is (again hypothetically) channel 24 from your dish or cable provider you would go to "Prog/Check" on the remote, highlight the "New Timer Program" line and press "Enter", and then use the numeric buttons to select channel 3 (the channel you use to receive your signal, NOT 24, the channel you want to record). You will have to program your dish/cable box to provide the channel with the content you want to record, in this case- 24.
Not sure if that was your issue, but hope this helps.
