Is a new main board the likely solution? Samsung LCD TV bricked after misguided firmware update attempt. TV's LCD lights work. Red 'On' light lights. Have sound no picture. TCOM board OK?

Don't know much about TV,s but I would look for a reset. Either electronic option in the settings or perhaps a manual one on the TV to return the TV to its original factory software.

Error 003 , unauthorized device has been detected

Sounds like you accidentally bought a hacked Wii. When you upgrade the firmware found the hack and now your Wii may be bricked. Try this: while holding down the reset button, turn on the power to the Wii. If a menu comes up then your wii is definitely hacked but it has a brick safety program to get you out of it. If nothing happens then you may be out of luck. Since you bought from Korea and it still allows you to play it in America then there is a good chance that your Wii is modded. I would say return it to the person you got it from but that seems to be out of the question.

Error 003 on a korean wii. what to be done?

Error 003 occurs when a system menu, 4.2 or higher, from a different region gets installed onto a Korean Wii.
You probably have a US version system menu and most likely a hacked wii.

After you connected to the Internet did you accept a system upgrade from Nintendo? This may be the problem.

Try this: while holding down the reset button, turn on the power to the Wii. If a menu comes up then your wii is definitely hacked but it has a brick safety program to get you out of it. If nothing happens then you're console is definitely bricked (a bricked wii becomes inoperable).

One solution is this but it's kinda difficult: difficult solution
Another solution might be to return it and get your money back or send it to Nintendo or query them at their site about this.
Another thing you can do it follow a professional guide that can fix your 003 error. Click here for more information.

How to fix a bricked wii

Q:What is a brick?
A:To brick a Wii is to damage the console beyond repair - as in 'A bricked Wii has all the electronic functionality of a brick'. To put it simply, fully bricked Wii consoles do absolutely nothing. The term is often used in situations where modifying a system's firmware (without necessarily making any alterations to the machine's hardware) has caused it to become inoperable.

Q: I've heard people talking about semi, banner and full bricks, What's the difference?

A: Semi bricks - Usually caused by installing an update from an out of region game. This is when a small error has occurred in the wii's system menu. If your wii is semi bricked you will not be able to access the Wii Settings.

Banner bricks - This is caused when one installs a wad that is corrupted or has an incorrect banner size. It may also be caused by installing Preloader on the wrong system menu. You will know your wii is banner bricked because when you boot your wii and it freezes after the health screen and/or say the system files are corrupted.

Full Bricks - These bricks are usually caused when the System's IOS is corrupted or uninstalled. The wii will either give an opera error or just a black screen at boot.

Once you figure out the type of brick you have then go here and read the faqs on how to fix it:

Wii sofmod semi bricked

To fix a semi brick or a full bricked Wii, you will need a backup of your Wii's NAND. Hopefully you made a backup of your Wii's NAND using BootMii.

Problems with Nintendo Wii 480p component cable

Try hooking it up with whatever cable it came with. We have this same t.v. and also have our Wii hooked up to it and have no problems whatsoever.
