SOURCE: power wheels kawasaki ninja fx will not go in reverse

If you use a butter knife to pop out the forward\reverse button there is 2 other prongs that the wires are no connected to. Connect the wires to the unused prongs. I had this problem and I was going to order a new switch until I tried this. It worked for me.

SOURCE: bought new battery for power wheels-charged it for 18 hours and t

It will most likely be the Failsafe foot pedal switch. You can pull that switch out and order a new one through online vendors such as Amazon.com or you can make the repair on the spot by purchasing a "sealed 60 amp starter button" from your local autozone and replacing this for the old one. You will have to make it fit in the old compartment, but that can easily be done with an oversized washer. If this toy truck has three wires going to the pedal switch and most likely it does, disregard the orange one and only connect the white ones and the red one. That fixed the problem on my little one's Fisher Price Power Wheels Escalade. You can also check if the battery is good and if the motors are working by simply connecting each motor to the battery with a pair of gator clips and some cables. <!-- from fixya rte -->

SOURCE: I have a Power Wheels

check for a shorted switch under the pedal , its just an on and off momentary switch, so just run a jumper wire between the 2 contacts, and if it runs, replace the switch , if it doesn't, use a meter to make sure the switch is actually getting power to it

How do i fix a fisher price power wheels jeep

If you have a volt meter, switch the volt meter to 12v, locate the motor in the back wheels and if you can see where the wires connect to the motor touch the terminals of the volt meter to the two connections and turn on the power wheels press the power pedal and see if you get a reading of 12v. If you can't touch the wire or where the wire connects try disconnecting the wires and testing it that way. If you have 12v at the motor then it seems the motor is shot. There should be two motors one fit each wheel and its unlikely that they would both go. If you don't have power at the motor try following the wires to the pedal and also the forward reverse switch. Test these in a similar fashion. Hope that helps

Does not operate in reverse

If the vehicle will not go in reverse, but works in both low and high forward speeds you most likely have a bad shifter switch.

The shifter switch is only available in a shifter assembly found here: http://www.mendingshed.com/j4390-9209.html

Replacing the shifter should get your Power Wheels running correctly.

Thank you,

No power to the wheels in forward or reverse new battery fully charged

verify that the battery is fully charged by testing it with a multimeter, also test your charger with a multimeter, they both should be putting out at least 12 volts

How do I switch from low to high speed on a Jeep Hurricane. Shifter won't go into forward slot.

I have NO CLUE but it bet its a simple piece of Chinese plastic. Look down at the shifter, USE screw driver to remove shifter, remove Chinese plastic blocking the shifter from being pushed into HIGH by young child. Reattach shifter, push shifter forward to HIGH.

My Pride Hurricane PMV will not go forward or backwards when I engage the trottle all I get is a click but it will not move. The battery meter shows fully charged.

Make sure that the manual brake release/freewheel lever is in the DRIVE position. The click indicates the brakes are being released but the motors are not kicking in. I hope this helps- good luck!

Barbie jeep won't go forward.

I think you need to unscrew or pop out the switch where you select forward, reverse, etc. Then clean off any metal parts and reconnect. I had the same problem and this worked for me on a different model (Powerwheels Ninja).
