How do i reset the code on an ABUS 145 series combination padlock

1. Using the existing code, unlock the padlock.
2. Rotate the unlocked shackle 180 degrees and then press it down.
3. While the unlocked shackle is depressed manipulate the code wheels to the desired code.
4. Release the shackle and rotate back 180 degrees.

Depending on the unit,, Make , Model etc.

It is usually CCW, CW, CCW sometimes 4 rotations to clear
go to first number, then 3 rotations CW to the next number, then 2 rotations CCW to the last number, rotate CW till the tumbler stops,
Then pull the handle to open, if in doubt,
Call a local locksmith who sells or services the unit and ask the
procedure for that model ,
They may be able to set you straight

with the lock open (!) (with the right combination set, push the gray buttons backwards so the lock opens), then rotate the right triangular marker clockwise 90 degrees, then turn the numbers to set your new code, then place the right triangular marker back to it's normal position. (rotate back 90degrees counter-clockwise).

Took me a while to find out too...!

Otherwise will be someting like the following (depends on your video card)Right click on your desk top. Go to Graphics Options, Graphics Properties, and then click on the Rotation Tab. Uncheck the "Enable Rotation" Box. What I believe happened is that your daughter pressed a certain combination of keys, known as "Hot Keys." After you fix your rotation, you may want to disable hot keys to prevent this from happenening again.

The key combination to rotate the screen back to normal is: Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow

If you use Ctrl+Alt+Arrow keys - whichever arrow key you press is the direction that the screen should rotate.

Step 1. With the cap closed, set the numbered dials to the combination line. The factory preset combination is "000".
Step 2. While maintaining the combination in place, rotate the "RESET" dial indicator beneath the letters approximately 90 degrees to line-up with the combination line. If the correct combination is not set, the "RESET" dial will not rotate.
Note: Using excessive force can damage the dials.
Step 3. Set the new combination while maintaining the position of the "RESET" dial.
Step 4. While maintaining the combination in place, rotate the "RESET" dial back to the original position. The combination has been changed.

On most video cards the key combinations of ctrl+alt+left arrow, ctrl+alt+right arrow, ctrl+alt+up arrow or ctrl+alt+down arrow will allow you to rotate the screen display in any direction. Each key combination will rotate the screen in the direction of the key press.

Due to the nature of security devices, there is no "magic unlock" code for the Defcon device. To recover a lost combination:

·Set the tumblers to the last known combination.

·While applying pressure to the red release button, rotate the tumblers up one digit and then down one digit on each of the individual tumblers.

·For Example: If your last know combination was 565

1.Set the tumblers to 565

2.Hold the red release button in and rotate the 1st tumbler to 6 so that the combination is now set to 665 (If this is the set combination the red release button will move in)

3.Hold the red release button in and rotate the 1st tumbler to 4 so that the combination is now set to 465

4.If not found move onto the 2nd tumbler and repeat step 1-3

5.If not found move onto the 3rd tumbler and repeat step 1-3

Instructions:
Opening the key storage
compartment door
1. Open shutter door to reveal the dials
and the release button
2. Rotate dials to the current combination
(if the lock is new, the combination is set
at the factory to 0-0-0-0)
3. Press down on the release button
to open the door
4. Pull the door fully open
5. Add or remove keys
6. Close compartment door
7. Scramble the combination dials to lock
the door and conceal your combination (A)
8. Close the shutter door (B)
To set a new combination:
The initial combination is set at the
factory to 0-0-0-0
1. Open the compartment door
(see instructions above)
2. Push the reset lever left and down.
The lever remains in this position
3. Rotate dials to your desired combination
4. Push the reset lever, up and right, back
to the original position
5. Close the key storage compartment door
6. Scramble the combination dials to lock
the door and conceal your combination (A)
7. Close the shutter door (B)
To hang shackle model
1. Open the compartment door
(see instructions above)
2. Push the shackle release lever to the left
to open shackle
3. Pull the shackle up and out of the lock
4. Place shackle around door knob or other object
5. Close shackle to lock
6. Close the compartment door
7. Scramble the combination dials to lock
the door and conceal your combination (A)
8. Close the shutter door (B)
Reminder:
(A) The release button will open the lock
until you scramble the dials
(B) Keep the shutter door closed to increase
weather resistance and to conceal the
dials from view
