I just start to use my VRDDVD4005 since last week. My DVD side has sound and pictures. The VHS side has just sound. How can I make the pictures to appear?
Thanks,
Tnguyen
I forget to tell you it is a Sansui VRDDVD4005 sold at Sears. I bought it brabd new but never have a chance to get it installed until last week because I did not want to install it by myself.
So what do I need to do?
Thanks,

The connection from your player to TV is only single output not separated DVD and VHS. If there is picture when used on DVD then you should be having problem with your VHS player. Question.... is your unit new? Is this the first time you encounter this problem? what is the brand of your player?

If you followed the instructions and it doesn't work then it is defective. I recommend you take it back to the store. Most stores offer a week or more for buyers to return/exchange a product.
I had the same problem, so I took it back to basics. Hooked cable into VCR/DVD player and another cable from player to TV. S cable too, plus red/white audio. Plays DVDs on AV1 and VHS on Channel 3 on TV setting.
Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback. Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder. Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed. Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV. Hope this info will help you.
suspect scart lead, check to see that it is firmly plugged in. Also, many dvd players have a bluescreen/screensaver function, check to make sure this ihasn't been enabled in the system set up menu.
Your unit has it seems to have developed a video problem. it could be in the video switching IC or the video processor. Its going to need a trained technician, who knows how to use an ocilliscope to find the video problem.. Good Luck
