Super nes my son and friend just hooked up a super nes, the picture contiues to roll. all connections are good and correct. any ideas

Make sure your system is hooked up correctly. This is the number one reason for a blank screen. To ensure all hookup connections are firm and correct, remove the AV cables and reinsert them with a slight twisting motion (this will help fully seat the connections). For more information about connecting the system, check the following hookup steps:

Audio/Video Cable to a TV

Make sure you are using all licensed accessories with your system. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems and may not work correctly.
Make sure the system has power. If not, go to the No Power Light instructions.
Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the OFF position. Remove the Game Pak and re-load it, pressing firmly to ensure it is locked in place. Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position.

Important Note: Inserting the game with the Power ON may result in a blank screen. Always turn your system OFF before inserting or removing Game Paks

Installation Steps:

Place the yellow end of the Stereo AV cable into the Video "in" on the back of the TV. Connect the red end of the cable to Audio "in" Right. Connect the white end of the cable to the Audio "in" Left. Use a slight twisting motion when inserting each cable and ensure the cables are firmly pressed into the input.
Note: If you have a mono television with only one Audio input, click here for a diagram of how the hook-up will look. The Y-adapter pictured is optional; you can also simply leave the white cable disconnected instead.

Connect the rectangular (gray) plug of the Stereo AV cable into the "multi out" connector on the back of the Control Deck.
After the system is connected to the TV:

Insert the Game Pak firmly into the Control Deck.
Plug the Controller(s) into the front of the system. Use the far left port for player one.
Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the system . Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
Slide the Power Switch on (toward Game Pak).
Turn on the TV and locate the input select. It is often called: input select, AUX (auxiliary), Line, Line In, Input, Source, Select, In, or EXT (external). Switch the input select to show the Nintendo game.
The game image should now be displayed on the screen. You are ready to play!

Recording Game Play

Set up the Super NES to play a game.
Insert a videotape and press Record. You can now tape your video game playing for posterity!

Other Screen Problems

Make sure you are using only licensed accessories with your system.

We find that video problems occur most when an unlicensed RF switch is used. Make sure the name "Nintendo" is molded onto the RF switch, as opposed to "for use with Nintendo." Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with our systems and may not work correctly.

Check all of the system connections to verify that they are firm and correct.

For AV connections
Remove the AV cables and reinsert them with a slight twisting motion

For RF connections
Make sure the channel switch on the TV and system are set to the same channel (either CH3 or CH4)

Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the OFF position. Remove the Game Pak and re-load it, pressing firmly to make sure it is locked in place.

Important Note: Removing the Game Pak with the power ON will cause the Game Pak image to freeze on the screen. Press Reset to correct the problem. Always turn your system OFF before inserting or removing Game Paks.

Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position.

Well it sounds like that there is a loose connection try cleaning the gamepacks for your super NES console out with qutips and rubbing alcohal and clean out the cartiage reader too with qutips and rubbing alcohal. 5 STARS IF THIS PLAN DOES WORK.

i have the same problem with the gray lines but mine blinks really fast and its extremely annoying. I think the problem is the tv you probably hooked up your snes to. I dont you which tv you hooked it up to but ive heard that if you use like a modernish tv, it will create those gray lines and the blinking so you should hook it up to an older tv. i dont no if this is true because i didnt switch my tv YET but hopefully, it will work better with an older tv. hope this helps ^_^

Maybe the one that is not turning on to play game is broken then. Ensure that you have a known-good game cartridge inserted before powering on the SNES console. Most older, cartridge-based game consoles don't boot without a game installed.
Does the power light to the left of the controller ports turn on when you turn on the power switch?
If not, check your power adapter and outlet for functionality and good connection.
Check that the reset switch is not stuck. Wiggle it back and forth through its range of motion a few times. If something sticky gets in there it can get jammed in the reset position, which will prevent any game from booting.
You mentioned that there is no image. Are you getting any sound from your games after waiting a few minutes with everything connected and turned on?
If you hear game sounds or music from the SNES, but see no picture and you've already (really and truly) ruled out the cabling and TV, then you might have a bad main board in the console.
If you don't get any video or sound, then it's not booting your game. You can find other recommendations about how to clean game and console connections, but usually inserting and ejecting a game 10-20 times will knock loose or grind off enough gunk to get a game to boot. Try this, and be sure to use the eject lever instead of ripping the game out to avoid console connector damage. If it's still not working, repeat with another game.

Check the connections first. If its not howe its connected up I think that the acadapter might be breaking then.

If you have it connected throught the Coax (round screw on cable with a wire in the middle) make sure your connections are tight and your TV input is on the correct one.

If it's through RCA ensure your tv is on the right input.

If you have a coax and no rca, RadioShack sells universal cables for SNES, N64 and Wii all in one. Try purchasing one.
