When I play Need for Speed on my computer with vista it crashes

    Thank you, I was not sure if I mentioned the vista in my original post. I was unaware of this issue concerning NFS Prostreet. Next question where can I find the .exe file?

Right click on the .exe file and choose compatibility(you make have to do this on the parent folder). From there make sure its setup for windows xp SP3

    Yes, most programs/games are unable to run properly in windows vista and even windows 7 as its built for the XP platform.

    I would also recommend upgrading from Vista to Windows7 for performance and compatibility reasons.

    BHWEST1, goto computer, open your c:\ and on the top right in the search bar type in .exe and hit enter. You will need to search through to find the one you need. Or if you know the full exe name then type that in.

how was it installed. (off CD or off Steam or other service for games?

my guess the above is crash dump (system application crash no a car crash)(haha)
and what OS, operating system?

the 3 causes of this are.
1: bad hardware the system even bad memory.(more..)
2; bad software system (OS, video drivers, etc or viruses)
3; bad game code, get the latest version or your game
or then reload it toatally if no newer version reload what you have,(unstall , install)

The registry is a very important part of Operating Systems like Vista. You need a good registry repair and cleaning software, I suggest you use the software from the following web link. The software is called Wise registry Cleaner. I am suggesting this software because it is free there are many other more powerful software in the market but they will cost you.

If this registry cleaner software fixes your problem that is well and good but in case the problem lingers on you have to at least reinstall your games but problems similar to this will carry on as I anticipate your computer may be critically infected with viruses and malware therefore I suggest that you get a fresh reinstall of Windows and reinstall your Games one by one for best results.

Crashes to windows after playing about 5 minutes
Most likely the issue you are having is your computer is under powered to run both Vista Home Premium and the game. Vista is heavy on the resources and since you are running Vista Home Premium you will need more then some running the Basic version.

So the easy fix would be to up you memory upto 2 gigs. Note best practice for Vista is to have atlest 2 gigs of ram in the system.

If you still have trouble I would test the game on another Vista computer with a 2.0 or higher CPU to see if it still has trouble. If it does not then most likely it will not work on your computer.

Also if you did an upgrade from XP to Vista you might have so Windows issue. So if the test on the other computer worked you might try a fresh install of Vista to resolve any possible Windows issues.

I installed this program on my Vista Home Premium computer as part of World's Best Mahjongg. I have also installed the Vista patch provided by the Valusoft. However, the game still often crashes my system....
Vista uses 1gig of memory just to run it self. Might need more memory? I play WOW and have 4gigs,still need to reboot after a few hrs of play. Hope this helps

go to the website and look for a patch. then try to update your graphics cards drivers and then even possibly reinstall your game. If none of those work yes it is probably just your computer...sorry
