How do you thread the bobbin on a singer 132q sewing machine

  • Brenda Berry

You have to disengage the needle first, by 1. release clutch holding hand wheel and turning clutch knob towards you. The rest goes the same as any machine. I have one and the manual I think you can find a free on the net.

if my answer is not good enough you can always wait for someone else to answer but you are not allowed to post the same question multiple times. As a result your second question has been removed- There is also an alternate answer provided from another user as I suggested. Also please keep in mind- we are not here to look up manuals and instruct you on how to use your product- we help fix problems. We are also by means the manufacture which is where you go for instructions on using a product sold to you. Good luck and
I hope the Brenda Berry was able to answer your question in the way you wanted. as she stated the manual is online- as I provided it to you, reading it would be a great start.https://www.6ya.com/mrmmike

SOURCE: raising bobbin thread

These machines are timed by belt and go out of time a lot. Check and see that when the needle passes through the plate and travels upward 1/8" at this point the rotating hook should be right behind and above the eye in the needle,my guess is that it is out probably 1 tooth on the timing belt and can usually be corrected by removing the bobbin case and holding the rotating hookk with on ehand and forcing the handwheel with the other hand which will cause the belt to jump a cog and should put your machine back in time I hope this helps

SOURCE: how to thread the bobbin on a singer simple sewing machine

Drop-in bobbin: Note: thread must change direction when entering bobbin shuttle notch. Usually bobbin will turn counter-clockwise when threaded properly.

1. hold bobbin so that the tail of thread is facing to left.
2. drop bobbin into bobbin shuttle.
3. pull thread toward you.
4. guide thread into notch and pull to left so that slot engages thread.
5. pull thread diagonally across shuttle toward back of machine.
6. draw bobbin thread up through needle plate with threaded needle.

Needle will not pick up the bobbin thread.

Could the needle be inserted incorrectly? Typically, the flat of the needle shank goes to the back of the machine. Are the needles the correct type for your machine?

My bottom stitch is "loose"

You might try adjusting your bobbin. You can do this with a tiny flat head screwdriver. Adjust in very small increments! There is a screw located on your bobbin case.

Here is the info directly from the manual:
"To test if the bobbin thread tension is correct, suspend the bobbin case by the thread and **** it once. Correct bobbin tension will result in the thread unwinding by only one or two inches. If too loose it will unwind continuously. If too tight, the thread will not unwind at all. When adjusting the tension on the bobbin case, make only slight adjustments with a screwdriver."

That is usually the cause of garbled up threads on the bottom side. Sure hope this helps!
(The 132Q is my third Singer, but will be my last. It's been a nightmare to deal with, and ALWAYS has something going wrong with it. I can never just sit down and do a project.... it is like the settings never stay put. There is also a LOT of plastic inside this model, and it cracks, breaks, warps, etc. We've replaced plastic gears/parts with metal parts, and it still acts up. Just a lemon model!)

Bobbin won't pick up

the problem is, your needle so short, adjust your needle bar down, so that the thread of your bobbin will come out.

I tried to load the bobbin, but it wouldn't turn

After you put the bobbin on, push it over to the right. It should slide into position so that it spins correctly and winds the thread.

Bobbin does not fill completely

Machines that stop the bobbin winder automatically when the bobbin is full have a mechanism that detects how much thread is accumulating in the bobbin while it is winding, then stops the winder when the bobbin is full. It is likely that the bobbin winding mechanism needs to be adjusted by a mechanic.
On the other hand, if the thread winds evenly, and stops winding when the bobbin is about 3/4's full each time, you probably don't need to worry about it if all else is good (even tension, consistent stitch quality, and so on).
If you'd like me to post some general troubleshooting tips, let me know.
Good luck

Bobbin is not winding correctly

slide plate may be worn - i had the same problem. try holding down the center of the bobbin with a pin while slide plate is in the winding position.
