First off, my name is Marc, and I am from New Jersey. If by any chance you live anywhere close to me, and still need your dvd player fixed, I can personally fix this item without any hassle. (Depending on the specific issue you are having)
First, I must ask a couple questions of you...
If the date of purchase is within 1 year, you should call Fisher Price's customer service directly (1-800-747-8697). The number is toll-free and they are open everyday from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. (Central Time)
If you are, then call them... I know for a fact that in cases like these, they are normally very good with these issues, and will offer you a no hassle refund.
This is important for me to know, just because I have successfully repaired two of these devices. One repair was to fix the issue with failing to read the disc properly, and the other was a battery/power supply issue. If the problem you are having with this device does not match either of these, then please be quite detailed about the troubles you are having.

SOURCE: Fisher price kid tough music
I went to www.fisher-price.com/kidtough/ re-downloaded the software and installed/launched it but didn't get any updates. So I disconnected the player but left the Fisher-Price software running in the background and started doing other stuff. When I went to shut down my computer, I was about to shut down the Fisher-Price software when I noticed the message prompt "THERE IS AN UPDATE TO THE SOFTWARE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DOWNLOAD IT" I was so excited to see the prompt and I hit OK. It told me to connect the player to the computer before starting so I did and it automatically did an update. It appears to be working now! Sure hope this doesn't happen again!
