No Acer video capture device was detected in your system/ Windows 7 Ultimate.

It sounds to me like Windows has not detected the device. Make certain it is connected then check the device in windows to see if it is working properly. It might need a driver update etc.

You can check if it (the camera) appears in Device Manager. Right-Click "My Computer" (or Computer in Vista and Windows 7), click "Properties", click Device Manager, then look through for your video/web camera.

From your description, the camera may be defective. If your computer is under warranty, I would contact Acer (or where ever you purchased it, depending on where you purchased it from store versus Internet and how long ago you purchased it, etc.) to get it fixed under warranty.

You would need some sort of video capture device in your computer. Then simply hook your existing video player to the capture device you install in your computer and record those videos to computer files. Once that part is done you can easily convert them to dvds, upload to youtube, or just keep them on your hard drive to playback whenever you want.

You might have a hard time finding 32bit drivers for this laptop. All the support is for 64bit. You may try googling for the driver by going to the control panel / system / device manager and click properties on the device that has no driver, click hardware id's and highlight it. press ctrl + c to copy the id and paste it into google with the addition, windows 7 32bit driver. It should come up with a good pointer to where you can find this driver.

I do recommend you install ultimate 64bit though, then you can get the support drivers from here:

you have to use the driver cd which came along with your device and install them and this will install the driver for your capture device and your hardware will be detected.

Have you installed the Moviebox Win 7 Drivers?

Try starting from the windows cd. Basically you want to make sure you haven't lost the Video totally. Boot the machine but go into BIOS setup before windows loads. If you can see you BIOS settings make sure the machine meets the requirements of Windows 7 as each time windows updates the system requirements increase. If it does meet these try loading Windows 7 again but choose a lower video setting or use the generic video driver.
