Hello.
The chip/one of the ribbon inside the camera has a possible scratch in it.
Firstly, try to connect it to your PC and look if there's any update available online.
get it update, if there is.
If none is available, flash the camera to a dark and light places and check if you can still see the horizontal lines.

If you can see the lines, it means it needs to be repaired.

Hi,
This is due to defective lens parts, Lens related parts need to be exchanged. So your camera require service (repair) as you won't be able to fix this problem

Lines appearing on the photos taken from my Xacti

it is a CCD failure try to contact Sanyo they might change it free of charge as other companys are also doing it is a manufacturing fault in CCD units see the link try it email them i am sure they will do it free of charge
