My DeWalt DWD520 Hammer Drill stopped working. Is there a breaker or an internal fuse I need to replace? The drill is only a few months old. Is this common?

Yes there is I looked and the model number posted is a demolition hammer, so you might want to recheck before checking, but go to Dewaltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page it will ask you for parts or below that manual, go to manual and type in your model number and you will get an explosion and current pricing for this tool. Dewalt cordless drill

You have burned out the drill motor, it is shorted, the battery smoked due to a direct short, one thing I don't understand why the thermal limiter didn't trip in battery pack, I would contact manufacturer and try to get hem to buy you a new drill.
