I have bought this DVD player in Tenerife, but after playing a few DVD's I have no sound anymore from the speakers and no sound from ear-phones. Last week I went back to the shop for repairing under warranty, but I need to wait more than one week. This was not possible because I was only for one week on holidy in Tenefife (I am from Belgium). Because they tell me it must be a broken wire inside on the phone connection and I need to do it by myself. I have opened it, but no wire was broken. Is it possible a software problem or what can I do to fix it, thanks.

If only on side playing with all your ear phones that mean you plug it bad or there is a bad contact between mp3 and ear-phone 3.5mm jack.

insert the ear/head phone in backpanel sound pin (Green color),

1.if You can hear the sound in ear/Head phone,then the problem is in the speaker.replace the speakers

2.if You can't hear the sound in ear/Head phone,then the problem is in your system audio driver.So Down load the audio driver which is suitable for your system and install it.

if you have an ipod that does not have the built in speaker then the sound might have gone bad

I have had a couple of these with the same problem , and in 2 out of the three cases the cure was the same .. Earphone socket fault ?

Ear phone sockets are designed to dissconect the speakers on insertion but with the constant use and pulling they get on a mobile system they sometimes lock open and do not reconnect the speakers you could check that ..
The other one I had was diffrent that one the sound output chip was faulty and had to be replaced as did the speaker output capacitors , one had failed causing the chip to overheat .. hope this helps Regards Vortash

We have a GMC Envoy which also does not allow us to play the sound from the dvd player through the car's speakers. Although we purchased the vehicle new with the dvd player already installed, it was installed by the dealer, making it after-market. I assume those that were installed in the factory work differently. Maybe this is the case with your's as well. Good luck!!

replace the earphone socket it has a broken terminal in the socket

if you mean, no sound when playing a disc in the player, you may not have connected the audio lead into the back of the player to the CD1 connector on the motherboard, likewise, you may not need to connect it if you have, as some of the latest dvd players play the sound through the ide cable to the motherboard onboard sound, which may cause problems if you have a seperate sound card fitted. You can also run this to check drivers, click start>run, then type 'dxdiag' and press enter and go to the sound tab to check for faults
