This may sound silly but it worked for me. Try sticking the key in the drivers side door with the alarm going off and go through the motion of unlocking the door. Good luck.

99 explorer alarm disables. Motor dies

Anti-theft system can keep vehicle from starting , Alarm is for vehicle content theft , open door without key alarm sounds (horns) ! PATS - passive anti theft system PATS enables and disables the engine from starting ,it will not cause the engine to die ! You have some other kind of problem ! If the vehicle engine doesn't turn over an red light on top of dash flashes fast ,then you have anti-theft system problem !
PATS differs from the perimeter anti-theft system in that PATS enables and disables the engine from starting. If equipped, the perimeter anti-theft system protects the perimeter of the vehicle (doors, hood and trunk) and sounds an alarm.

Indicator lights keep flashing when alarm activated

Is it a small light somewhere on the dashboard? I'm not familiar with that car, but any vehicle I've had with an alarm has a blinking light to warn you/intruders that there is an alarm on the vehicle. Check your owner's manual for more info.

Sunfire alarm sounding for no reason

Focusing on switches: Start with the door switches. Pull the fuse for the dome lights. Reset the alarm. Does it sound off? The alarm feeds off the dome light fuse. Driver door is first: Often they wear out first and give us grief like this. Unscrew and disconnect the switch first. Replace the fuse. Carefully close the door so you don't loose the wire in the frame(attach a string to it so you can fish it back out if it falls in). Reset the alarm. Does it sound off or not? If it does, it is other than the switch or the passenger door switch (if a 2 door or 2 other passenger switches if a 4 door). Repeat process until the switch is found or all are eliminated. Switches are cheap, so replacing them will not break the bank. Disconnect the fuse again, unscrew the bad switch. Unplug it. Plug in the new. Screw it back in place. Reconnect the fuse and try it again. Repeat as needed until you have either found it or just limited your search area. Most often you will stumble upon it- chaffed wires, look plugs, bad switches). Yes, there is more, but I see this as the usual suspect. If you go back into the alarm, disconnect the alarm first, then observe the dome lights with the fuse in. It just may be a faulty control in the alarm, which is out of my territory. Let us know what you find, but start with the smallest things first. Good Luck!

I replaced a battery in my 2001 pontiac montana n the lights started blinking as if the alarm was going off.i hit the unlock n lock button n the blinking stopped. i have power, lights n radio but van wont...

It can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again properly.

Or else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact with alarm wiring causing it to happen.

And last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere in between.

Factory security system intermittently going off. Wondering if it is a bad sensor or switch. Does the door LED flash a code? 8 long flashes followed with normal short flashes.

I bought a Chevy Trailblazer, used, had keyless remote access Viper Alarm after manufacturer. Had trouble with transmission and alarm....took to Chevy dealer they replaced transmission. Now the remote...

You need to find the black push button called the valet button. That is the overide. Get in the car turn the key to IGN as the alarm is going off and then you have either 5 or 10 seconds to push that button once and then 2-5 seconds later the alarm is shut off. To put the car into valet mode which means no alarm at all you put the key to IGN push that button once then pull key out at which point the blue light should turn solid blue.

Or option two is you open a door and hit the lock, then unlock, then lock button again on the remote and the blue led will be solid which means no crazy alarm.
