JVC Everio - Screen is black when in record mode - all symbols are visible (battery etc) and it also works for playback.

What model JVC Everio camcorder? Are you recording in a wide-screen mode and then playing back otherwise?

My jvc gz-hm35 does not turn on. I tested the charger it works but I dont know about the battery. It does not turn on with the charger. Does anybody know a solution? Please

I'm afraid that this is a fault. Your ccd, the image sensor, is either not working or has become disconnected. Everything else seems to be working, but the camera is blind.

Hopefully you can get this fixed under warranty. Otherwise it may be too expensive to be worthwhile.

Rechargeable batteries don't last forever. When I searched Amazon for "JVC GZ-MG21EK battery", I found lots, from about 9 pounds sterling ($12).

It should no trouble with your JVC Everio GZ-MG27U exactly.You can find the Manual for it to look up the mode setting tips and operations .After correctly reset it,it will be OK .Good luck !

May you will need to relace the optical block assy or ccd base assy

if u can see the old videos in playback mode those videos when ur camera was ok then it is

BAD CCD !

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

Depending on what model number it is? My JVC had a snap shot feature to it as well as video. Make sure that this is not an option for your camera. There could be a possibility that you did record but you have it in this camera setting, it could be taking snapshots of what you recorded.
