I assume by resting the "mains" you are referring to the house circut breaker...I will do that, shut it off and on.(I have all ready unpluged and tested the outlet and pluged the unit back in, since it is not hardwired) and I will await the next suggestion with the repair manual hopefully we can detect which fuse is bad, if this is the problem.

It is possible you have an internal fuse blow out on the dishwasher.
See item 6 on page 2 of this parts list.

But first turn mains off and on again to check if anything happens ( a reset of some sorts).

I have a repair manual for this but not immediately accessible. Will be about 7 hours that I can get back on this.

yes I meant the power outlet and looks like you have already done that.

  • Sam Oct 19, 2010

The part you will need is the fuse kit which is inside the control panel on top of the door.

This should restore the power back to the controller. If you can take it out and check resistance with ohm meter. Should read nearly 0 ohms if OK.

For details of the assembly of the dishwasher refer these diagrams.

    Hope this helps.

You will have to track it in the space between the inner and outer door panels. The fuse should be touching the inner panel of the door inside the cavity between the inner and outer door panels. Trace the wiring harness from the controller.

All KitchenAid dishwashers of that model should have it.

Please reconfirm that you are not getting any lights on the panel to come on.

  • Sam Oct 20, 2010

Unfortunately at the moment I do not have access to a physical dishwasher to confirm if this is ok.

If the part looks like the one in the diagram on the website then it is the thermal fuse.

Kitchenaid KDPM604KPS dishwasher stops minutes into cycle

I couldn’t find any error code 2H but I did find an error code H2O. This code means insufficient water pressure. If the display reads 2H, it usually means the start delay function is turned on. The dishwasher will turn on in 2 hours if door is closed. This dishwasher is advanced. To understand all operations you should read the user guide or manual.

To invoke the diagnostic cycle, perform the following key presses in less than 6 seconds while in standby.

Heated Dry -> Normal -> Heated Dry -> Normal

Invoking the diagnostic cycle clears all status and last run information from memory and restores defaults. It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle. (quoted from service diagnostic cycle notes in troubleshooting guide)
