I have a MightyLite weed eater - the plastic bobble has a crack. What are my options besides purchasing a new weed eater? Purchased at Home depot.

never saw your brand weed eater . but most weed eaters ,the string cap either unscrews or has plastic tabs that have to be pushed sideways with a flat blade screwdriver.If you have the plastic tabs ,be careful not to crack them off when pushing them sideways with a screwdriver--- so that the nub can clear the slot and get the cap off.

There isnt anyway to turn the head the other way round as its ment to run that way just go round the edges the other way

The bulb repair kit can be purchased a home depot or lowes, or whatever is close to your home. These can be replaced fairly easy. It is usually prongs on the backside that hold the bulb in. After pressing these the bulb will come out of the housing and disconnect the tubing from the bulb. It a good idea to replace tubing when doing this, the tubing is rotted or dried out and eventually cracks. Keep in mind where the tubing goes. One will feed from the gas tank and the other will feed the carb.
