I have a Lanier Voicewriter 1000, I cannot locate a manual to give me the instructions on how to listen to previously transcribed dictation from an outside telelphone, I need to dial into the recorder and listen to older transcription, do you have such answers?

I don't think that's possible, the minicassette won't fit between the spool spindles. You may be able to use a minicassette player, and route its output to the full-sized cassette recorder, though, or to a little transmitter that broadcasts to a matching receiver in the full-sized cassette player.

MR-9 Microphone for DT-1000 The MR-9 Microphone allows direct dictating to the DT-1000 Transcriber and also permits you to control the playback functions remotely. Remote playback functions include Listen, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Stop. Cord extends to approximately 6 feet.
We use this equipment in remote locations and have found that the type of phone needs to be a centrex line, such as is used on a fax machine. Note: in the past, we used to have to use an "analog" phone line, which is just a normal phone line.
You probably have two different phone lines involved here.
