Hello!

I will just illustrate on how to configure or to set the correct IP addressing;

Assuming that we will manually put IP address on each computer:

PC1:

IP Address: 192.168.1.13
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

Preffered DNS server: 192.168.1.1

***note that 192.168.1.1 is the IP Address that your ISP gives to you, so on the other computer (see below)

PC2:

IP Address: 192.168.1.18
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

Preffered DNS server: 192.168.1.1

Hope I was able to help.

SOURCE: How do you connect a Linksys NH1005 v2 hub and

A router takes an Internet connection, routes it to several other computers and provides each of these computers with their own IP address.

A Hub, on the other hand, will split the Internet, but the various ports on the hub will all have a single IP address. Makes it hard to use a computer for much of anything, if it is the second computer, you'll have trouble getting access.

5 port network hub

Connect the power supply.
connect the ethernet cable from your router (or the box that your isp gave you to get the internet connection) to the port labeled "Uplink" on the hub.
Connect the ethernet cable from your computer or another device to be connected to any of the ports 1 to 4. Do not use port 5 (that port is used to "chain" another hub)
Please be aware that a network hub is basically a very simple device that will not assign an internal ip number to your devices or computer, and if you have two or more devices or computers, you do need that either your "modem" (the device that is installed by your isp) is capable of handling more than one computer, or you will also need something to act as a router (your computer can do it, but you will need to know how to set up that).
Hope it helps

NH1005 network hub

I assume that besides the 2 computers you also have a cable or dsl modem connected to the hub in order to provide the actual connection to the internet.

The problem may be the fact that this is a hub and not a router or gateway. The problem is that although it will allow you connect more than 1 computer to the internet, it does not do any good if you Internet Service Provider only supplies you with 1 IP address. You need something that handles Network Address Translation (NAT), like a router or gateway device.

Linksys 10/100 network hub model nh1005

I hub is just a network distribution device.
It doesn't control IP addressing, or aid in connecting to the internet., you need a router for that.

What is the problem you are having?

Linksys nh1005 ver. 2.1

first make sure that you are getting lights on all of the devices at the hub, and also that all four are getting ip addresses. if the 4th device is not getting an ip address but does show connected to the hub, then the problem is more than likely your router is not serving enough ip's for all of your devices. also make sure that everyone of the devices are not assigning a static ip that could possibly knock out one of your devices, or if they are all static ips, that one of them is not set to the same ip as another.

Network Hub or Router - World of Warcraft - NH1005 Linksys

I recommend purchasing a small switch because what it sounds like is that the traffic being generated from and to the two computers and then out to the Internet is killing your hub. A switch would help reduce some of the traffic.
