I have a Frigidaire model UFD1064 upright freezer that i bought used. It runs continously. Temp is about minus 20degrees. temp controls has no markings other than C, W, N, I dont know if the unit is malfunctioning or that i just dont know how to control it. can anybody shed some light on how to set the temp on this unit?

these units are designed to run approx 85 percent of the time,they maintain temp rather than letting it get to a higher temp and then try to cool it down.they use a lot less energy to run the way they do long running times are normal
It is probably the control board and since it's new it's still under warranty so a certified Frigidaire repair man will fix it without charge. There should be a telephone number with the paperwork you received when you bought it.
If your'e positive the temp is ok then your freezer cold control may be bad. Slowly turn it toward off. If the compressor doesn't cut off before it gets to off, the control is probably bad. Test it here>http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/refrigerator/refrigerator.php
I have a Kenmore Freezer model # 253.9251310 serial # s510347256 10\95 Makes all kinds of noises and now is defrosting. Sounds like fan is working but no noises besides fan. any ideas
