I can't turn on my wireless LAN. There is a button at the top of the keyboard of my Acer Aspire 4520 but when I press it, it says "wireless LAN disabled". I have tried everything to turn it back on. Control panel doesn't work. I have updated all my drivers to Win7. How do I enable this thing????????

The wireless feature (Wireless LAN) on an Acer notebook allows you to connect to available networks. This convenience allows you to use the Internet with network cables, modems or network installation. Acer laptops come with a wireless switch to turn the wireless feature on or off. Once you enable the wireless feature, your Acer notebook can connect to wireless networks within range.

Instructions:
1.Locate the Wireless LAN switch located on the front of your Acer Notebook. Move the switch to the right to turn on Wireless connections.

2.Right-click the network icon located on the system tray next to the clock. You should see a list of available wireless networks.

3.Select the network you want to connect to and click "Connect."

Hopefully you just shut down the "RADIO" and a switch will turn it back on.

Look between the Keyboard and the Monitor and there is a row of buttons.

Just above the "F4" button is a switch for the wireless to turn on and off.

he light at the top of the keyboard is the button. It does not look like a button. Press it and wait as much as two seconds for the color to change. You will then need to re-establish a connection to the wireless router. Click on the wireless icon next to or near the clock in the task tray of your screen. hi, plz type " ncpa.cpl " in run command, it'll shows the network connections. if the wireless (WI-FI) driver is updated, it'll shows in that screen. just move the cursor to wi-fi connection and right click it. it might have been disabled. if it is disabled plz enable it and switch it on ur WI-FI switch...

The switch is both an indicator and button to turn ON/OFF the wireless and is located beside the keyboard (top) as Easy-launch buttons.

There should be a Satellie dish looking button on the very left hand side beside esc. That is your wireless switch

there should be a button right under the screen, right above the keyboard that looks somewhat like a thumbnail, when you press it, it should turn orange telling you it is on.

RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, ON REBOOT, CLICK F10 WHEN YOUR CHANGE BOOT OPTIONS SCREEN COMES UP. YOU MUST PRESS F10 QUICKLY OR IT WILL LOAD WINDOWS AND YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART AGAIN. ONCE YOU GET INTO THE BIOS SETUP UTILITY GO TO SYSTEM CONFIGURATION, SCROLL DOWN TO BOOT OPTIONS CLICK ENTER. GO DOWN TO INTERNAL NETWORK ADAPTER BOOT AND ENABLE IT. GO TO EXIT AND SAVE..

However there are two wireless LAN drivers in that directory. You should find out which one is yours. To do this click start->right-cllcik on computer. When the system window opens click on device manager located under tasks on the left hand side. When the device manager opens double-click on network adapters and one of the two devices(Atheros wireless LAN or Broadcom wireless LAN) will be listed. Download the respective driver and your wireless would be up and runnin'

At the top of your key board right below the power button, there is a row of hotkeys the far left one is the wireless button.
