Right click on the wireless internet icon on the lower right of your screen. Then left click Troubleshoot problems. If that doesn't work, go to Device manager, network adapters, find your wireless adapter then right click on it and then select uninstall device. Restart the computer and it will find the port & reinstall it for you.

More than likely your problem is your memory or your video card. When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning,lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Hello,This happens sometimes when you go back to an older os. Go to Acer support page, enter your model info and reload the drivers for your model notebook. NOTE: Select XP os instead of VISTA. You can not format your hard drive using it's on software on the same hard drive. Because your notebook does not come with a DVD rom or CD rom what you need to do is to get yourself an external DVD rom which you connect to the computer with a USB cable. Then you use the disc of the operating system that you want to use on that Notebook. When you reboot the operating system disc will be recognized and on the screen you will be asked to press any key if you want to run the disc. So you will press and follow the instructions the rest will take you to formatting the disc and loading the operating system.

1. From the Windows Vista default Start menu, point to All Programs, Accessories, and then click Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type: Regedit and Click OK.
3. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
4. In the Registry Editor window, locate and then click to select the following registry subkey:

5. From the File menu, click Export.
6. In the File name dialog box, type: Savedkey, and then click Save.

8. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type LowerFilters file, and then from the Edit menu, click Delete. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
9. In the Registry Editor window, from the File menu, click Exit.
