Monica, I highly recommend you replace the switch. By passing the safety of a switch on any appliance or tool endangers both yourself and those around you. Just to by pass the switch, you would need to disassemble the appliance. If you are going to do this then get a replacement part and replace it. :) Safety comes first , especially where mechanical and electrical devices are used.

you need haynes repair manual for 1993 suburban it has photos and information you need to help you replace ignition switch.i am mechanic i use haynes,chiltons and gm manuals.if you are a home mechanic do it your self you need haynes repair manual it has step by step instructions to remove the steering wheel and remove lower steering column reason i say need haynes repair because your steering wheel has a air bag in it you need to see how to remove air bag in steering wheel you need to read through the entire ignition switch removal procedure if you are going to replace ignition switch with keylock cylinder you will also need steering wheel puller. you need a tool compress lock plate to remove lock plate retaining ring from steering shaft in order to get to the ignition switch in the steering column below turn signal switch.

You will need to remove the front control panel assembly (2 screws and 1 ribbon cable) with copier opened like removing a paper misfeed (or replacing toner unit). Next, you will need to separate circuit board from control panel in order to gain access to the switch under the green print button. Sometimes, you can use electrical contact cleaner (tuner cleaner) to spray into the switch itself, pressing the switch numerous times to evaporate the solution from inside contacts of said switch. Now use a multimeter to check for continuity while depressing the switch and releasing. If cleaning the switch fails, either the switch will need to be replaced or the control circuit board will need to be replaced...replacing the switch isn't difficult, if you know how to solder. Reassembly is reverse of disassembly.

Is the switch screwed to a line or the accumulator? Or is it on the compressor?

need to replace the on/off switch for this camera. I have the broken piece that cannot be repaired. How can i find a replacement switch. I can repair the camera myself with the new switch. thanks.
