I cant find maint mode button to reset . where do I find it ?

  • homeoffice7 Oct 15, 2008

I did have the same problem on a 1118MFP after a 21-2 hour blackout. Following both ottoman23 and KyoDoc 's suggestions, plus an extra scroll down after the last enter to "activate", then "enter", then turn off etc. Now all OK. I don't know how much $ I saved, but the work time is invaluable. CHEERS!

This Problem is a power supply problem and commonly occurs when you've had a power failure. 99.9% of the timer you don't need to have anything repaired or replaced, but what you do need to do is go into the machine's service mode and reset that code using service mode item U163.

Unfortunately I'm not at liberty to give you the procedure to get into the service mode... This is privelaged and confidential technical info. BUT, now that you know what to do to get rid of the problem, maybe you can get that info from somebody else.

If you're not at liberty why answer at all.

2. Select Service setting using the up/down cursor keys.

3. While pressing the start key and the # key, press the enter key. (Maintenance mode is entered.)

4. Select Maintenance mode using the up/down cursor keys.

5. Press the enter key.Enter the maintenance item (163 Resetting fuser problem) number using the up/down keys.

6. Go to step 1 under method below.

Resetting the fusing problem data Description

When a service call concerning the fusing section occurs, turn the power switch off and open the front cover.

Then, turn the power switch on and press the system menu/counter key to enter the maintenance mode.

Method

1. Press the enter key. A selection item appears.

2. Select Execute using the up/down cursor keys.

Note: Sometimes in order to do the reset when the machine is in an error state you need to open the top cover (like to replace the toner) and leave it open until you have performed the reset.

I am getting an error C6000 on my Kyocera KM-1820 after we had a power outage. I can't seem to get it to turn off. What do I need to do in order to get the copier to work again and for it not to have the...

Go into the service mode ( 10871087 ) then enter 163 then hit the start button. This clears the C6000 (heater error) and if it is a false code due to a power outage, it will clear the code and resume normal operation. If the code comes back, you likely have a bad heater lamp or thermal fuse or thermistor.

KYOCERA copystar CS-1820 ERROR C6000

Your problem is heat related, or the lack of heating at least. one of 2 things went wrong here... either the fuser unit overheated causing the thermal fuse (aka the thermostat) to blow, or the heating lamp in the fuser unit is blown. Basically the 6000 code is displayed when your machine fails to reach the correct temparature at a specific time. Unfortunately you will have to call a service person to check which to of the mentioned components are at fault and to replace that component for you. After replacing, the component the code will still be displayed as a safety measure, so the service representative will need to clear the code via the machine's service mode
