Warning - undertake this fix at your own risk as it will probably invalidate the warranty.

The problem is a bad connection inside the embroidery unit - there is a small plug that joins four sets of wires that comes loose.

1) disconnect the embroidery unit
2) Turn the unit over and remove the posidrive (crosshead) recessed screws on the bottom. ONLY remove the recessed screws NOT the ones holding the catch to hold embroidery unit to machine. ALSO DO NOT remove the one screw that is different (it has different head that allows a flat screwdriver as well as a posidrive)
3) Carefull turn unit back over
4) With the enbroidery unit facing you there is a screw facing you in the white cover of the hoop holder. Remove this screw and carefully remove the plastic cover.
5) On the underside of the hoop holder nearest you there are two black screws that are undone with an allen key. Remove these (they allow the main cover to come off
6) Pop out the long plastc cover under the hoop holder (where the ting moves back and forward)
7) Pop out the section of cover behind this that is now loose.
8) Carefully tease off the main cover. IT will come with patience and by moving the embroidery arm back and fortht to give space. DONT FORCE IT.
9) You will see the rails running left to right that the hoop holder moves on. Under these you should see four wires, that are joined to four other wires by a connector.
10) Wobble the connector to get them to connect again
11) Connect the embroidery unit to the machine and switch on.
12) If the carriage goes to the start position you have restored the connection. Secure with insulation tape
13) If not switch off, wobble, switch on unitl it works
14) Disconnect and replace covers.

Good luck. This sorted out our machine that just moved the carriage the wrong way and flashed red 88

Is the need in upright position ?

or have you fitted the embroidery hoop correctly.
If all else fails switch off and start up again - should then automatically go to correct position.

My xl400 singer embroidery carriage has stopped working. Will not move at all when machine is turned on. Also keep getting msg error about hoop size but no hoop attached.

The switch for "sew" or "embroidery" must first be in the "embroidery" position.
Make sure the connections are very firmly pushed in.
If it still isn't functional it may require some small motors to be replaced. The motors are what makes the hoop move.

Embroidery unit

This can happen, click back to tools option check whether hoops selection is correct. If this is not the problem, off your machine then put on again. If message remain pull out the embroidery carriage & push in again. Hope it can work.
In jam situation, just exit from your embroidery option, fix the jam by moving the embroidery carriage, work on a different design and see if it work. Sometime a design may not work fully.

Board

Close your futura file & exit, switch off your futura machine. Disconnect the embroidery unit from the machine, move the hoop carriage a bit to the left then to the right & it should be able to move. Connect back embroidery unit to your futura machine, ensuring the connecting point click properly. Re thread the machine & ensure needle is fully up position. Now you switch on the machine, you will see hoop carriage moving and stop at its zero point. If that is OK and the earlier led blinking gone, you should be able to operate the futura embroidery program again.

I bought a new embroidery unit for my designer 1 when I but it on it makes e terible noise and says to slide of hoop and clear position for i . embroidery position'But it won't go into embroidery...

Don't know for sure what is happening, but you should not put on a hoop until you are actually ready to embroider. The unit goes on while the machine is turned off; turn on the machine; it will make a noise; you should get a pop-up on your screen to Calibrate the unit. Touch this button, and the arm moves into position ready. Load your design and choose the correct hoop then put the hoop and project on the machine. Also be sure that your design will fit in the hoop selected.

Singer Futura 250 under XP - embroidery unit won't move

HI,
The machine has to be leveled. What I mean is that the embroidery part has to be level so the conector can send the information to the machine. Turn on the machine, open the software at the computer and try to pull the embroidery arm a little up (very carefully) if the hoop moves and the machine beeps it means that the computer is comunicating with the machine. Try to put something under the machine to level it.

Embroidery arm won't park or go in position on hoop to embroider

You may need to have the embroidery unit serviced. The slide rods in the embroidery unit will get dirty over time and must be cleaned and lubricated. If not, the mechanism can not slide freely and you will be unable to keep the unit calibrated while stitching a design.
You could attempt to disassemble and clean it yourself, but if you bring it to a repair center in pieces or improperly assemble your repair is going to cost a lot more than it will if you go today.

Futura ce-200 "parked" in wrong position.

I think you might have damaged the embroidary arm.

The embroidery carriage

Wow, I finally get to have a solution.
1. Turn the machine off.
2. Remove the hoop.
3. CAREFULLY slide the bar on the embroidery unit to the left.
4. CAREFULLY slide the piece where the hoop attaches toward you.
5. Turn on the sewing machine. The machine should take the unit to "standby" with a click.
6. Attach the hoop with the power on.
7. Exit the Futura program.
8. Restart the software.
This "should" fix the problem, however, you may have to repeat this process more than once to get it to "stick".

Singer Quantum Futura CE-200 Problem

My machine did the same thing. I had several frustrated nights ans then it just started to work. Some suggestions that I had was that there may be dust where the units connect. Not sure what I did, but it worked.

Needle position is too far left

It sounds like you have an alignment problem. You can try to move the needle over with the stitch button and run you machine by hand for the first go. If it jumps back over - you are going to have to take it in to be looked at. Good Luck!
