HI, No having your (PCM) computor reset will do nothing to correct this problem. Because the Alternator is charging doesn't mean its charging correctly. This light will come on if there is an over charge situation also. There may also be a short to ground in the charge circuit. I hope this helps good luck.

My 1994 honda passport will not stay charged new altnator and new battery

is the engine running at 800 rpm or more.
if engine RPM is way low the Alternator will die out.
trans light , where is that? name it. exactly
lets focus first on the engine, and RPM
does the dash have a tachmeter, ? yes, then use that.
we keep a hand tachometer (optical , ready for no tach cars)
RPM is everything.... maxwells laws. and such.
1: rpm 800 or more all the time. rule 1, do not skip this.
2: belt to ALT not slipping'
3: battery good. terminals on battery cables tight both ends and
NOT PACKED in green corrosion, .
4: alternator case is grounded good.
5: The connection and ALT, all good.
6: you key on, and the dash charge light must turn on,
if not fix that now, on old cars, the dash light , causes the ALT to self excite, if the lamp burns out the alternator boots up DEAD.
or fails every other car starts. (does)
7: new alt is the wrong alt. zillion wrong ones, only 1 works.

WHEN I AM DRIVING MY CAR THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH( BATTERY, BRAKE AND ABS WILL COME ON. tHE BATTERY LIGHT WILL FLASH. i WILL LOSE MY HEADLIGHTS. sIOMETIMES TO GET THE LIGHTS TO SHUT OFF WHEN I TURN THE CAR...

sounds like an alternator not charging. You should have 12 1/2 volts with engine off and 14 1/2 volts with engine running if alternator is working.

Dash says battery not charging

Alternator is what charges the battery. The alternator isn't putting out enough of amps to charge your battery and you will get a light or gauge reading that the voltage is low.

My 2009 Chevy Aveo Ran Outta Gas And Battery Died After Sitting For A Few Hours. We Charged Battery, Interior Lights & Head Lights Come On, But Still Cannot Get The Car To Turn Over To Start. Help

Have you considered the alternator and battery? When the alternator isn't working, it wont charge the battery and supply proper amperage to the ecu, starter, coils etc which then the vehicle will not start, or if it does start it will not run proper. Try taking the alternator out and taking it to a local autozone for them to check it. Then you will determine the faulty equipment to replace.

Just bought car. battery seemed to be dead. charged up and drove 1-2 miles while check charge light was on with change oil and check coolant. Also, red light on dash for Alternator. Then all lights guages...

sounds like the alternator is shot and is not supplying sufficient power to the engine or even enough to charge the battery, try replacing it, and you said the dash light for the alternator is on so its most likely the alternator

Hold light blinking, check engine light on, engine slows down

check tps sensor (throttle position sensor in backside of the throttle cable) and map sensor (manifold absolute pressure on front little 1 inch sensor with vacuum line) make sure there plugged in. the ecm (engine control module driver side inner fender) and tcm (transmission control module under dash) both need the data to know when to upshift and increase fuel/air. Otherwise the computer runs default values and guesses off of other sensors giving poor performance. also disconnect battery for 15 min. usually resets aveo service lights if you dont have a scanner.

Car won't start (battery issues)

Probably the battery. Car wouldn't run if the alternator didn't work, it'd run until the battery drained and then stop.
