The default IP for the DIR-300 is 192.168.0.1. First, make sure you're entering "http://192.168.0.1" in your browser's address bar. In some browsers, if you try entering just the numbers, it won't work.
If you can't access the setup page at all, that address may have been changed. If this is the case, or you can't log in because you don't remember the username and password, you should reset the router which will restore the factory defaults.Press the recessed rear-panel reset button and hold it in for 10 seconds. Release it and the router will restart. The defualt IP (192.168.0.1) and username and password (both admin) will be restored.
Hi, To reboot or to reset your router. Just unplug for 30min. and then plug back in. Wait for lights to come back up and you are ready. I have one too. You don't need to change you IP address.
try to reset by pushing the button in the back then run the setup wizard by accessing your routers page via the ip address if you do not know your routers ip address plug it into your computer with an ethernet cable open up your command prompt and type in ipconfig then enter and look for your default gateway
the router ipaddress or default gateway will be 192.168.0.1 and you can use any ipaddress from 192.168.0.2 to any... for your devices like computer and primary dns address will be 4.2.2.2 and the second dns will be 4.2.2.3
gud luck
thanx and regards

check the IP of your computer by going to dos: Run -> CMS -> then type IPCONFIG. If your IP address is not in the 192.168.0.X range then you will not be able to access it. You may have the IP assigned by the ISP or you may have to renew the ip address by restarting your computer. You can use another computer see if gets the 192... range or assign an IP belonging to that range manually.
Hi! I will be more than glad to assist u in this concern..Please dont use the setup cd or setup wizard. you can access the setup page of the router by typing at the url:192.168.0.1 then it will ask for the user name and password, by default the username is admin and the password, leave it blank.. here are the things u need to check before u setup u router.. .. if you
are using a cable modem from ur cable company provider- u need to do a
mac clone on the router u have to clone the mac address of ur computer.
normaly the mac of ur computer is the one register to your cable
company and on the setup page of the router just selct on the internet
setup, dhcp after clonning the mac address of your computer. u need to
connect ur computer directly to the router and then after doing the
process connect the router to the modem. if u are using a username and
password, u have to use the pppoe settings on the router, if ur isp set
a static ip , set it up to the router, to check the ip setting of your
isp.. connect the computer directly to the modem and check if u have
internet.. then click on start, run and type cmd,it will give u a dos
prompt and from there type ipconfig/all and it will show u the ip
address, subnetmask, default gateway, dns server.. I hope this will
solve ur concern..
With a cable broadband connection, the cable line comes into the cable modem. The cable modem does the work changing the cable signal to a network connection and sends an I.P. address to the computer. With some cable internet providers you can hook the network cable into the in port on a router, wireless or wired, then hook up computers to the router. At this point the router gets the IP from cable and uses it's own IP routing for your internal network. Some broadband providers control your access by the computers mac address which registers with the vendor. If this is the case then the easy way to make it work is to get a router which can clone a mac address so the vendor still sees the same mac address.
