I have a Sony Cybershot Vario-Tessar camera. I took the memory stick out of my old Sony Cybershot camera and put it into the new one. I formatted the memory stick and now everytime I try to use my new camera, after taking a few pictures it gives me a message saying to "Reinsert Memory Stick" I never had this problem before, so any help would be appreciative.

There is a switch at the back of the sliding cover of the lens that is on when the cover is slided down (lens uncovered). You should try to take off the back cover of the camera where the sliding cover is and try to fix that switch.

use sony memstick. try formating the stick. you will lose any picts when formating. try inserting in cpu that has memstick slot.

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful. The amount of memory is not the problem, as I used a 4GB card for a long time and my card finally went bad. You will just have to get another memory card and MAYBE find someone to be able to retrieve your data.
