Clean ALL the very small holes in the brass bolt that holds the carb bowl on.Some are VERY small and easily clogged. With bowl off and the bowl float hanging free, does gas readily flow? It should, and it should of course stop when the float is raised (putting the needle valve on its seat). If this event is occuring, then the main jet must be badly clogged. If no gas even gets into the bow. (not enough details).. then there is a vacuum lock or something strange going on in the fuel tank (cap). The threads of the fuel cap on a mower allow it to vent, preventing vacuum lock of the fuel flow.Start at the tank and go back in. Please repost as this is a good one.

18hp ohv cuts out after it gets warm or hot like it is running out of gas

I have a 12.5 hp Briggs & Stratton on a Murray that did that. The carburator is right above the muffler and when I replaced the muffler, I didn't put the heat shield between the muffler and carburator back on. The added heat from the muffler was vaporizing the gas in the carburator where the engine would no longer run once it got hot. Replacing my heat shield and putting a longer pipe on the muffler to get it away from the carburator solved my problem.

How do you drain the oil on a murray 201011X99B walk behind mower

Is that your mower model number or your engine model number? Most smaller Briggs and Stratton engines the user's manual will tell you to drain the oil out of the "oil Fill hole." If you pass along the engine model number off of the air shroud I can look that up and confirm that for you. I will post this as a solution but if you need more assistance just respond here and I will gladly answer all of your questions.

Replacing the self-propelled belt on my Murray mower

Hi,
Here is the link to the parts list for your mower. Though it doesn't give instruction for replacement, it does show an exploded view of the components:

I hope this helps...
Good luck

Murray riding mower 12.5 hp briggs & stratton spitting oil & gas out of carb & muffler when trying to start

Drain oil... it is full of gasoline due to a bad float pin and rubber gromet in your carb. When your float pin and gromet fail, gas just keeps flowing into your carburetor, eventually flooding your motor with gas and oil mix.

Need a owners manual for Scotts walk behind Model 21595X8B

Good luck....Scott's was manufactured by Murray originally, then Murray went bankrupt, then Briggs bought the remnants of Murray. The Murray website only covers manuals back a few years. About the only way to get older ones is if someone has one for you to copy.
