Mine wouldn't connect and would tell me it was too full (even though I had plenty of space) and would shut down. I ran this utility, and it reinstalled the firmware and formatted the device, now it works perfectly.
When the player cannot be turned on, check and try next:
• Battery is empty: Try a new battery.
• Ensure the keys lock is not activated.
• Reset the player by removing and re-installing the battery.
• If the player still cannot be turned on after resetting,
perform a firmware upgrade to restore it.
