Our tv's green light comes on for about 10 sec. and then turns back off. The tv doesn't work at all. When we reset the tv, it blinks for about 15 sec. and turns off again, no picture. This comes at a time when the tv color has been acting funny. Our tv's green light comes on for about 10 sec. and then turns back off. The tv doesn't work at all. Unplug, replug the tv back like 24 hrs later. That the whole tv is resetting itself everythings.Tv now should be working again. If still have the same problems, than ur tv DM power supply board is have dying parts, must repair the tv DM power supply board to fix the tv.
...OK to begin troubleshooting this. Unplug the set and leave for 1 min then plug up and leave for 2 min push the power button and let light blink for 2 min.... now push and hold at the same time the MENU and DEVICE buton st the same time. this is the self diagnoses feature ... the lights should link then pause then blink again... this 2 digit code will help narrow it down. Also have you check the lamp yet?
Right now your TV is in " Protection Mode " because of a failed part inside. The blinking red light is a error trouble code. Only someone with the actual Service Manual for the TV will know what the code means. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common board to go bad is the Backlight Inverter Board. It what supplies power to the screen. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms. You have a few choices: 1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself. 2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route. 3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15. 4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV. I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.
I have exactly the same problem! Sometimes when I turn the input dial it comes back on but this time it is out for good. I have tried re-wiring and unplugging etc. nothing seems to work.
the dlp will most likely need a qualified mits repair center to take over for you. repairing that set is pretty involved. and the parts you would need are not available to the public.
on your 48" CRT projection check the DM module for 4 vented 1000mf 16v capacitors. replacement should get you tv working great
You need to change the seven capacitors on the DM power supply board (inside the metal case on the left where your DTV tuner connects)They are 1000 MFD 16 VOLT capacitors and the tops are probably bulging outward because they are leaky- this is a common problem. When you lost power, the TV had to reboot itself but because of the leaky caps it never will and the green light keeps blinking. As long as you never lost power or unplugged the set the TV would of still worked.Once you change the parts and plug the set in the light will blink normaly for about a minute and when it stops blinking you can then turn on the TV.
You might have blown a fuse inside the TV. Lots off volts can go into those TVs. Make sure you are under warrinity and return the thing. Maybe also a malfunction.
