Marantz SR6001 Questions & Answers
Marantz sr6001 stanby blinking
It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be with your output drivers. Please check for short on the outputs fitted for both the channels. Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise which can be a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation. You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board. Maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias or there is a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the amplifier comes out of the protect mode then check for short on the speakers.

It could be that you have a loose fitting power supply cord. Try replacing it and make sure it's pushed in FIRMLY. Also, blow away any dust or debris that maybe in the connector causing a poor connection. If it's actually sounding like it's inside the metal chasis of the amp. DO NOT TAKE ANY RISKS and un plug it, you will then HAVE TO tak it in...unles your a trained electronics guru type.

Sr6001 standby power light keeps
Hi
Try disconnecting all the speaker wires from the back and connections and try to turn it on. (Just to be sure that no stray wires have touched any speaker terminals shorting the amp out.) Then plug the power back in at the wall and try to turn it on. Again if it works then connect the speaker wires being careful not to touch have any stray wire touch other wires for each connection. If it does not turn on after removing all the connections then you have a bad receiver.
However there is no way that you can disable protection mode that Marantz or Authorized servicers are allowed to give out. The early versions of this model all you had to do was unplug for a few minutes then plug back in and unit if it did not have blown amp unit would power up and work fine. But if amp had failure it may cause more parts to fail so they changed software to not allow users ability to disable protection. Send to Marantz Authorized servicer for them to check for amp failure or mayby they just have to disable Protect Mode.
Let us know if you have something more to ask else please accept the solution.

Reciever just shut down didn't notice the protect
If it was in a cabinet then it probably got too hot. If you listen at a louder volume for a long period then operate it with the doors open.
Unplug it and let it sit and/or hold in the power button until it "clicks."

This unit went into protect either due to overcurrent or dc detect.

hi there
check settings for this configuration ......if you have a subwoofer in the settings, for best overall results choose subwoofer yes, and set main/center/surrround to small....if no subwoofer set left/right speakers to large and small to center, if there is no loe frequency effect (lfe) going to the subwoofer it will go into standby....hope this hlps ....shia
