Press Clear/Modes, then 107, then press AND HOLD Clear/Stop
This will get you into the service mode screen.
Know what you are doing before going into any modes and changing anything.

LOL I think I already gave you a solution try this:

1. Press the clear mode key (yellow key)
2. Use the keypad to enter "107"
3. Old down clear/stop for at least 3 secunds. (red key)
4. Enter the service mode.

5. Exit all the way and turn off.

6. Turn ON

Describe your lanier sc 542 Problem Machine turns on and then gives this code.
This is a hot section problem, can be reset by entering service mode (pushing in sequence clear modes 1-0-7 hold stop button down for 5 seconds) but this is a bad code...service call? -Carl

Service code 561 error
Hello sir; Just follow my direction, it will reset your machine;
1, press "clear mode", "107", then press and hold down "clear/stop" key.
2, touch "copier SP" on the screen.
3, enter "5810-001" press enter.
4, set value to 0, then turn power off and back on again.
