Press and hold the device button you want to program (TV). Then type in one of the codes for Sharp TV's:
1004, 1006, 1012, 1029, 1095
1111, 1112, 1113, 1122, 1171, 1173
Release the TV button and press the on-off button. If that doesn't work, press the device button and try the on-off button again. Continue trying codes until one works.

Another thing to try: Turn on device. Press and hold the button for device you want to program, press the on/off button and hold until the LED turns on, and then release both buttons. Then, point the remote at the device, press and release PLAY and wait 5 seconds or until the LED stops flashing. If the device does not turn off, then continue to press play and wait the required interval (for a maximum of 20 times) until the device turns off. When the device turns off, stop pressing play. Press REVERSE, wait two seconds and continue doing this until the device turns back on. To finish programming, press and hold STOP until the LED turns off.

If neither of these methods work, the remote probably isn't compatible with your TV (manufacturing dates matter; newer tv's often don't work with older universal remotes). In that case, try remotes.com for a exact duplicate of your TV's original remote. http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=19C140&uuid=12795625009490

I hope this helps.
