You need to look through the menu options for some kind of auto-delete option and disable it

You probably need to check the partition map format as well as the actual volume format.

One of the Options in Disk Utility lets you specify the partition map. Options include GPT, MBR and the classic Apple Partition Map.

The drive will need to be formatted as MBR in order to act like a 'true' PC disk. A FAT partition on a GPT disk isn't sufficient - it's still a GPT disk and that's what is confusing the player.

Got the same problem. Happened 2 months after guarantee expired. **** machine. The only good thing is the harddrive and that is made by HITACHI not Panasonic! I go Sony next time. Panasonic quoted £200 plus to fix the problem. I only paid £220 when I bought it new.

You could try Changing the Remote Control code for your DVD recorder. If you have more than one Panasonic device, there's an option to give each device its own Remote Control code. The Default is DVD1. So for FixMick, it sounds like someone may have changed the Remote Control code on your machine to DVD3. For Dador, someone may have changed the Code to DVD1. So you'll need to change the Code on either the device or the Remote to make them match up (see page 19 of the DMR-EH65 Users Manual ... you can download it from the Panasonic website)

just open the top cover of your player and check the RIBBON WIRE of the LENS/EYE part then clean theGOLD FINGER/LINES
and get some clean cotton buds and a lighter fluid 2 clean the lens,,,,,ok,,

PS. dont use cd cleaner fluids,,, that wont clean, , , , , ,just lighter fluid ok!!!
