The DVD drawer on our Bose is stuck out and will not retract back into the unit. I have taken it apart to get to the DVD player but have not taken the DVD player apart.
We have seperate problem with the sound. After a while it starts to get scratchy and will go out. We just turn it off and let it cool down. SInce I have the unit apart can I do anything to stop this issue?
thx
Matt
Try to unplug the unit from its power source, give it a minute then plug it back in.If open appears on the window, hit the eject button. See if that will work for you. If that dont work, hit source and on at the same time, then eject if open appears in the window. That should close the draw for you.

Take the DVD player hold it tight in ur hand and give it a couple shakes,to losen stuck frame or the plastics warp.Plug it back in to see the DVD player drawer open and close now,not take the DVD player aparts check,if the the motor or the rubber band, not a dead motor or broken rubber band.
One of the pistons that move the screen in place must be stuck. The unit must be taken apart to fix this. You need to take the tablet at a replair shop
Hello the unit is out of timing now, it will have to be taken apart and retimed. You have skipped some gear tracks and the unit will not close until the Tray is realigned. Try hitting the eject button so the tray comes all the way out then pull on it gently to see if it realigns it self. When it trys to go back in it is hitting the clamper because the tray has not reached home and the clamper that gasps the disk is closing before it has a chance to return home.
That happens when you close the drawer instead of pressing the close button you can skip gears and it would have to be taken apart and re-calibrated. Sometimes it is just a glitch that you can over-ride using a straight pin into a small hole on the front (assuming this uses a drawer).
If there is a disk stuck inside, then try the following:
Unplug power cord. Plug back, and then press repeatedly the eject button while the unit is starting up. Do this a couple of times.
If the above did not work, or there is no disk stuck inside, then wiring to unit motor, or mechanics may be broken. In that case the unit must be taken apart, removing screws at the back and sometimes at the bottom to take out the upper cover.
THE UNIT HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GEARS SLIPPING ON THE SHAFT , NEEDS TO BE SENT BACK. REPLACEMENT OR A SYSTEM UPGRADE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. SOME PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN UNIT APART AND PUT GLUE ON THE SHAFT AND SLID THE GEAR, BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A PERM FIX. AND IF YOU MESS WITH IT BOSE MAY NOT WORK WITH YOU ON THE PROBLEM ...
Easy fix, just take apart your unit, it is very simple if you have taken anything apart before. Once you get the screws out of the casing and you take the top off the main thing will be taking the top off the cd drive. Hopefully you will not have bent arms from the jam on your cd drive like I did. Because now I have to either get a new drive or send it to Bose for a complete refurb which is only 100 dollars and for what they offer its a great price! I could fix it myself but I cant find the drive anywhere and Bose don't sale internal parts! Anyway once its taken apart remove cd's carefully and reasemble. Easy as that unless you encounter the same problem I did! Good Luck!
When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:
Unplug power cord. Plug back power. Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject. If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be taken apart to remove the disk.
NO NEED TO TEAR APART OR REPLACE THE UNIT! JUST TURN OFF THE UNIT, LEAN IT FORWARD AND A LITTLE DOWNWARD AND HIT THE LOAD BUTTON AND IT WILL OPEN. THAT'S THE TRICK!
yes, same problem. drawer stuck out problem.
