I dropped my phone in a rye&coke, dried it out, worked great after that. I later dropped it in a glass of water, worked great for a short time, and now my display screen is backwards. I have to use a mirror to read my text messages. Is the phone toast?
Sounds like the LCD is missing a signal getting to it. One of the signal lines is either damaged, possibly still has a small amount of liquid on it and is getting a bunch of resistance it shouldn't be.
Open the phone up, and let it sit and dry fully for a few days.
You could always try dropping it back into the rye & coke, it seemed to prefer that to water =0)
By the sounds of it, if only this phone could talk.. The tales it could tell of its many adventures, both above and below sea level =)
If it makes you feel better, I had to fix a phone damaged like this, not once, not twice, but 4 times. The "lady" in question kept dropping into into the toilet at nighclubs. Gloves on for that job =)

LOL.. rye&coke is my preference as well. It's been about 2 weeks since it had a bath in water, a short time after I dried the phone out and got it working is when the screen started inverting everything. Typically I would power it off or pull the battery and it would work again. Now it doesn't seem to want to recover from it. Anyway I appreciate the help, and I let it sit for a few days.
