My I phone has an error message that says no Sim Card Installed. I tried removing and re-inserting the sim card and the message still appears. I am unable to restart my iphone. What should i do?

Insert sim error happen if the phone is not acknowledging the existence of sim card inserted in the phone.

1. Check if the sim is properly inserted.
2. Turn off mobile phone
3. Remove battery
4. Remove memory card
5. Remove sim card
6. Check the copper pins of the sim if there are dirts stucked on it
7. Ure clean cloth to wipe sim gently
8. Wait for at least two minutes
9. Gently and properly insert the memory and sim card
10. Insert the battery
11. Turn on mobile phone
13. Check if you will still recieve insert sim error
14. If you still recieved the same error you need to call your service provider and check the status and availability of your sim card.

Is there any error messages appear when you insert the SIM card?.

• Try to clean the metal surface of Sim card with a piece of clean cloth and try it again
• Try to insert the Sim card using different phone ( If it works. The problem is the phone)

If you can use the simcard using different phone then the sony erickson you are using is locked up to a particular network. so all you have to do is to call your service provider hotline to request for unlocking of the phone.

You can try these steps just as a work around:

1. Remove the SIM card, clean the circuit at the back of the SIM and try inserting it back.
2. Clean the SIM try.
3. Try using another SIM card just to make sure if the SIM is working fine.

I do these steps when ever i get the same error message.

May be its detecting your sim card properly. Check your sim card in another handset. Verify if its the propbelm with sim card not your handset.

what sim card are you trying to use after the restore in itunes and also when you finished the restore in itunes did your iphone come up with a message saying iphone activated?

go here click here and tell him what has happend this chap is a god with iphones he actually makes his own software etc for iphones.

I think it is the problem with SIM card. Please try to insert the SIM card in another phone and you may be getting same error or messages like 'SIM card not valid'. If this is the case rquest a SIM replacement from your provider

Do a phone reset

try holding down the power
remove the back cover and battery
(at this point briefly let up on the power)
remove the sim card
wait for "insert sim card" message
remove battery
reinsert sim card and battery
release power key when the splash screen comes up

Are you guys serious....

Verizon & Alltel (which happened to recently finalize the merge) use CDMA. CDMA does not use SIM cards.

AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. use SIM cards - wheter they are 3G networks, TDMA, etc.
